Comfort is the point of difference here. Stepping out of a hot shower onto a padded surface is a noticeably better experience than stepping onto tile or onto a thin mat, and the cushioning holds its loft rather than flattening after a few weeks. A non-woven dotted backing grips bathroom tiles to reduce movement underfoot, and the whole mat is machine washable, keeping its softness and shape through repeated washes.
